Another Steve story. Just after we returned to England from America and Jami and Steve were dating again. Steve challenged me to a race from our house in Southbourne Gdns to Southbourne school, around 300 meters away. I considered myself a fast runner over 100 and 200 metres. I was used to winning races so I accepted the challenge feeling slightly sorry for Steve who was about to embarrass himself in front of Jami by loosing to her little brother. I started off in front and feeling confident, but by the time we got to around 200 meters Steve moved ahead. By the time we reached the school he was probably a good 10 meters ahead. Steve won the race easily. Jami never knew by how much. I used the tight hamstring excuse. Steve laughed ! I was the embarrassed one. I should have known better. Thanks Steve James Brotherinlaw
